Open Poster Deadlines and Due Dates (No Deadline Extensions):
  • Obtain an Open Poster Abstract Reference Number Deadline - May 16, 2006
  • Open Poster 1 page Abstract Submission Upload (PDF) Due: May 16, 2006
  • Open Poster Notification to Authors Due: May 23, 2006
The purpose of the Open Poster Session is to further encourage sharing of possibly preliminary or incomplete results and to stimulate discussion at the Workshop.

Two of the acceptance criteria for regular and late-news contributed papers will be relaxed for open posters:
  1. First-ever presentation. Papers very recently published, or presented at another technical meeting (e.g. MEMS 2006, Transducers '05), or papers having only incremental new results relative to recent presentations, will be considered.

  2. Completeness of results. Papers where results are preliminary, and full testing has not been completed, will be considered.

The work presented must fall within the scope of the workshop as described above, and must be presented in a technical fashion. Purely commercial or marketing materials are not acceptable. The Technical Program Committee Chairman has the sole discretion to decide which papers may be presented.

The Hilton Head Workshop Technical Program Committee reviews the Open Poster abstracts in electronic format. Each abstract must have an Open Poster abstract reference number assigned to it. Please view the procedure below to receive your Open Poster abstract reference number and submit your electronic abstract file. It is an EASY 3 Step Procedure to complete this submission process.
  1. Complete the on-line Open Poster Abstract Reference Number Request form to receive your abstract submission reference number. This on-line process to complete the form will be available through May 16, 2006 (11:59 p.m. Hawaii time) and must be completed before submitting the abstract. Please make sure to indicate your Open Poster Abstract Reference Number in the upper right hand corner of your abstract.

  2. Note that Open Poster abstracts are limited to 1 page, including all text, references, and figures and limited to 600 words. This abstract submission will be used for acceptance decisions only.

  3. Upload your electronic Open Poster abstract (in .PDF format) to the Hilton Head 2006 Workshop website. (DUE DATE is May 16th by 11:59:59 p.m.)

Please note that authors of accepted Open Posters will be expected to participate in the Open Poster Session on Wednesday evening, June 7, 2006 and Open Posters will not be included in the Hilton Head 2006 Technical Digest.
