Welcome to PowerMEMS 2021, the 20th annual event of this prestigious conference series that focuses on micro- and nano-scale technologies for power generation and energy conversion. Its topics of interest range from basic principles, to materials and fabrication, to devices and systems, to applications. All energy domains are of interest, including, but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, chemical, thermal, magnetic, electrostatic, ferroelectric, optical, nuclear, and fluidic energy domains.

Due to the global travel restrictions during the current Covid-19 pandemic, PowerMEMS 2021 will be held online, which makes it the first-ever virtual conference in this series. Apart from webinar type of plenary talks, invited talks and parallel oral presentation sessions on Zoom, PowerMEMS 2021 will also have interactive poster and PowerMEMS-in-Action demonstration sessions on Gather where participants will be able to interact with presenters in real time.

Paper submission for this conference is slightly different from previous years. There will be no abstract submission stage. Authors are required to submit the 4-page full papers. All accepted papers will be published in IEEE Technical Digest and appear in IEEE Xplore. Selected papers will be invited to a Special Issue. More details will be provided in due course.
