Some papers are better suited for poster presentation, others for oral presentation. Authors may indicate a preference for poster presentation on the abstract submission form and on front page of the abstract; otherwise, all abstracts will be considered for both oral and poster sessions.

Abstract Submission Deadline: January 6, 2004
Author Notification (by e-mail): February 11, 2004.
Deadline for Technical Digest manuscript submission: March 15, 2004
Late News Abstract Submission Deadline: March 16, 2004

Papers presented at the conference will be published in a Technical Digest, as well as on a CD-ROM. They will be limited to two pages in length. The Technical Digest will be distributed to participants at the conference, with one copy included in the registration fee. Authors are encouraged to expand their digest papers into full papers for separate publication in archival journals.

Late news papers will be accepted for presentation in the oral or poster sessions and will be published in the technical digest. The conference has reserved 9 oral presentations slots in the program for Late News. Late news papers will be limited to two pages in length and must follow the submission procedure in the instructions.

Accepted papers, as submitted will be included in the conference technical digest and will be placed either in one of the four oral sessions or in the contributed poster session.

Open Poster Session Submission Deadline is May 18, 2004.

The purpose of the Open Poster Session is to further encourage sharing of possibly preliminary or incomplete results and to stimulate discussion at the Workshop.

Two of the acceptance criteria for regular and late-news contributed papers will be relaxed for open posters:
  1. First-ever presentation. Papers very recently published, or presented at another technical meeting (e.g. MEMS 2001, Transducers '01), or papers having only incremental new results relative to recent presentations, will be considered.
  2. Completeness of results. Papers where results are preliminary, and full testing has not been completed, will be considered.
The work presented must fall within the scope of the workshop as described above, and must be presented in a technical fashion. Purely commercial or marketing materials are not acceptable. The Technical Program Chairman has the sole discretion to decide which papers can be presented.

Open poster abstracts are limited to 1 page, including all text, references, and figures, and will be used for acceptance decisions only. Please send your submissions to the Workshop organizers, Preferred Meeting Management (address on the home page of this web site). Authors of accepted open posters will be expected to participate in the Open Poster Session.
